Friday the 30th of July we will have a new and very special Exhibition opening about the Skateboarding 3D book by Sebastian Denz. This book shows the entire series of photographs that Sebastian Denz took with members of the Carhartt skateboard team. Let the 3D glasses take you on a journey to another world, where you will meet about 20 characters from the Carhartt team.

At this exhibition we will show some of the photographs in big sizes with the special 3D glasses. Opening will start around 18:30 until 21:30 with tunes by our Dutch most famous DJ Commander Redbeard!

Schepen en havens in de Romeinse tijd

Stap aan boord van de vloot van de Romeinen! Donderdag 24 juni opent in het Allard Pierson Museum de tentoonstelling sail rome! schepen en havens in de romeinse tijd. De tentoonstelling, van 25 juni t/m 23 augustus 2010, vestigt de aandacht op de koopvaardij in de Romeinse Keizertijd. Vanaf loopbruggen en leunend over relingen waant de bezoeker zich op Romeinse schepen en in Romeinse havens zelf. Originele voorwerpen, scheepsmodellen en reconstructies laten de koopvaardij in de Romeinse tijd weer tot leven komen.

Van 19 juni t/m 4 juli zal bij Galerie Rademakers de expositie van Ryszard Bolechowski te zien zijn.

Bolechowski (1968, Polen) studeerde aan de Academie Minerva voor Beeldende Kunst & Vormgeving in Groningen. In het werk van Ryszard staat de mens centraal. Eindeloze observatie zorgt voor inspiratie voor de persoonlijke verhalen die zich in zij n werken afspelen. Het gebruik van eenvoudig grijs potlood, Bolechowski’s favoriete gereedschap, geeft zijn werk een verfijnde precisie.

On Saturday June 19th at 17.00 the gallery RADAR Architecture & Art will start the exhibition “from engineers of yesterday, aka so far no good”, showing artwork by the Dutch artist Dirk Polak.
At the opening there will be a small acoustic set to introduce the work and some drinks, so we cordially invite you to the Eerste Rozendwarsstraat 17hs.
The exhibition can be seen until July 17th.

Dirk Polak, singer of the cult band Mecano, makes Meccano works (paintings, objects, drawings) since 1977. At Radar Architecture and Art he will show 25 pieces.
There will be an hommage to the great and enigmatic French writer Alfred Jarry, a collection of butterflies (Lepidoptera Mechanica), an hommage to the father of the artist, who died in the box ring at the age of 54 and of course a collection related to Dirk Polak's musical activities. The artist addresses every theme using a variety of techniques, where the Meccano pieces always remain the unifying element.

Bent Rej is een Deense fotograaf die in de jaren zestig iedereen die er wat toe deed in de popmuziek voor zijn camera heeft gehad. In de afgelopen jaren was een klein aantal foto’s uit deze unieke collectie te zien op groepstentoonstellingen.
On Stage Back Stage, die gelijkertijd bij V!P’s Amsterdam en V!P’s Rotterdam gaat plaatsvinden, zal het begin zijn van een reeks tentoonstellingen die in Europa, later gevolgd door Amerika, te zien zal zijn. Verdeeld over onze twee galerieën zullen ongeveer 150 foto’s tentoongesteld worden van niet alleen grote namen als The Beatles, The Rolling Stones en Bob Dylan, maar ook The Small Faces, Them, The Kinks, Cliff Richard, Tom Jones en vele anderen verrassende namen komen aan bod.

Op vrijdag 9 april presenteert uitgeverij contact het boek van Arie Boomsma en Stephan Sanders getiteld "De man en zijn lichaam". Tijdens de presentatie is een 1dags-expositie van foto werk uit het boek te zien.

Arie Boomsma (1974) is tv-programmamaker en (radio)journalist. Hij begon zijn carrière als omroeper bij Yorin en kreeg grote bekendheid als presentator van het EO-programma 40 dagen zonder seks en Dit is de dag op Radio 1. Vanaf 1 december 2009 werkt hij bij de KRO.

Stephan Sanders (1961) is auteur, essayist voor o.a. De Groene Amsterdammer en de Volkskrant, columnist in Vrij Nederland en zaterdagavondpresentator van het populaire radioprogramma Met het oog op morgen.

Op 8 april komt documentair fotograaf Daniel Koning met een nieuwe tentoonstelling: Zilverstad.
Koning was tijdens de oorlog als verslaggever in Bosnië en keerde in 2009 meerdere malen terug naar Srebrenica om de stad en omliggende dorpen met de camera vast te leggen. Hij maakte een reportage over het dagelijks leven in Srebrenica 15 jaar na het drama.

Linus Bill neemt foto’s in de echte wereld en bouwt met behulp hiervan een nieuwe wereld op. Speciaal voor Foam heeft Bill een tentoonstelling gemaakt die alle wanden van het Foam vult. Beter gezegd, hij presenteert al zijn foto’s en sculpturen in een schaalmodel van Foam (1:10), dat in Foam_3h is geplaatst.

De tentoonstelling opent op donderdag 25 maart. U bent welkom vanaf 17.30 uur.

Errol Sawyer (1943 - Florida, USA) is the son of African-American playwright Robert Earl Sawyer (1923-1994).
Errol Sawyer grew up in New York City and currently lives in Amsterdam.
The Royal Gallery Exhibition is a direct result of a recent trip to Africa, in which he portrayes dayly life from a very personal angle. With a keen eye for detail and a sharp sense of moment Errol Sawyer turns the usual into special.
All the shots in this exhibition are in black and white.
